Dragonfly - Odonata
This is a cube shaped piece of amber about .5 inches on a side. Inside is a dragonfly, Odonata. It looks as though 1/2 of the body is cut off, the back part of the wings and the abdomen. Needless to say this is a very rare specimen. Even with so much of the body missing, this is still a one of a kind specimen. Dragonflies and damselflies are undoubtedly among the rarest of insects in amber and as far as I know, only been reported to date from Baltic and Dominican amber.
