Sphere in Chiapas Amber

This is a hand made sphere of real Mexican amber.  It is about 1 1/8 inches in diameter - or about 28 mm.  I can see an artist using this as an 'anchor' in a beautiful necklace.

Inside is some very interesting inclusions.  There is a very nice tropical stingless bee, Hymenoptera.   There is also what I think is a small Diptarian (nice way of saying I do not know for sure).  Both of these animals are attached to part of a spider's web.  It really is cool looking.
